In the first half of the year, Dofluoro's large cylindrical full-ear battery shipments exceeded 1GWh

2024-09-24

"The company's new energy battery shipments in the first half of the year were about 1.4GWh, of which large cylindrical full-tab batteries accounted for about 80%, and the yield rate was stable at around 98%. "Recently, Dofluoro stated at the 2024 semi-annual report performance briefing that the new energy batteries produced by the company are highly competitive in the fields of automotive use, backup power, and home storage applications below 300 kilometers, especially in the two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicle segments.

According to reports, the company shipped about 19,000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate in the first half of the year, with a capacity utilization rate of about 70%-80% . Specifically, the first quarter shipped about 8,000 tons, and the second quarter shipped about 11,000 tons, with an increase in the second quarter compared with the first quarter. The company expects that its lithium hexafluorophosphate shipments will be 41,000-42,000 tons this year. Among them, "the overseas market shipments account for 25-30%, and the gross profit level of foreign trade is better than that of domestic trade."

At present, the price of lithium hexafluorophosphate continues to fluctuate downward, and has been hovering below 70,000 yuan/ton for several months. Dofluoro pointed out that the price of lithium hexafluorophosphate is mainly affected by the supply and demand relationship and the fluctuation of upstream raw material prices, especially lithium carbonate prices. According to the current market situation, the supply and demand pattern of lithium hexafluorophosphate will not change significantly in the short term, so its price trend will still be directly affected by the fluctuation of lithium carbonate prices.

On the 2nd day of the 9th, data from Shanghai Steel Union showed that the average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate was 75,500 yuan/ton.

"Although the price fluctuations of lithium hexafluorophosphate have brought certain uncertainties, the company will continue to advance steadily according to the established capacity plan." Dofluoro revealed that the company will add 10,000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate production capacity in the second half of the year, and will further reduce the construction cost per ton through continuous technology iteration, intensive equipment and automated application, and reduce the fixed asset investment per 10,000 tons to less than 200 million yuan.

For the new lithium salt lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI), Do-Fluoride expects annual shipments to be around 1,000 tons in 2024 , but the current capacity utilization rate is lower than expected. The reason is, on the one hand, market factors. At present, LiFSI is still used as a secondary salt in conjunction with the main salt lithium hexafluorophosphate in power battery electrolytes to improve performance; on the other hand, the price of the product is lower than expected.

Under the circumstances that the whole industry is generally making little profit or even losing money, what strategy will the company adopt to maintain its competitive advantage in the industry? Do-Fluoride said that on the one hand, the company will deepen its overseas market layout. In view of the company's long-term cooperation with overseas customers and good customer compliance rate, it will use the stability and high profit contribution rate of overseas markets to balance the fluctuations of the domestic market. On the other hand, it will accelerate the construction of overseas bases, improve the layout of overseas production capacity, and continuously increase its global market share.
